Introducing MACAW CMS: The Future of Content Marketing Workflow Automation

I’m building MACAW CMS—”yet another” content marketing automation system, but this is one that seamlessly connects human creativity with intelligent automation. And it will be free. And open source. And transparent.

It will be the opposite of all the things you hate about CMS.

Is this a new era in Content Management?

Bit bold. But let’s chat.

Traditional content management systems (CMS) are often rigid, expensive, and require heavy manual input. Or people roll their own. Or don’t have one at all. If it’s hard to use, it can fuck the fuck off. I’ll just sketch a piece here, post in on WordPress, job done. Can’t be doing with all that process crap and dealing with Jean in Marketing. (love you Jean!)

I feel you. Those are my true stories. The problem with putting up with is that the fabulous ideas from great people never see the light of day.

• Or they’re poorly articulated.

• Or badly distributed.

So many things can, and do, go wrong.

It’s all, to quote a genius, bollocks.

“So what, Steve? Who cares?”

The impact of not solving this problem is that individuals don’t get heard, ideas get lost, dialogue never happens, a community isn’t engaged — especially the paying kind.

And we’re all poorer for it. Imagine a dull light bulb at 2 being turned up to 10.

Now imagine a million light bulbs.

That’s why I’m turning my war stories and injuries into MACAW CMS. It turns the broken CMS model on its head by combining human beans (sic), the intuitive flexibility of Notion with the powerful automation capabilities of n8n, and generative AI.

This is about supporting and augmenting humans, not replacing them. For more quality, productivity, scale — bringing Jevons Paradox to people and companies in terms of content efficiency.
