Yes, the warm bubbly water looks inviting, and everyone loves a hot tub (right?) — and is that Selma Hayek in the corner just shoulders showing? — but like Katt Williams never took $50m to join a P-Diddy party, seasoned business leaders are increasingly pumping the brakes on wholesale AI adoption.

Here’s why their cautious approach might be the wisest path forward.

Would you give a single employee unrestricted access to every file, email, and document in your organization? Give me a loud “HELL NO”.

Do you trust all of your employees? All of them? Some of them? We all know the answer to this but we don’t talk about it in public. But we should.

This isn’t to suggest that AI has no place in business operations. Rather, leaders need to approach AI integration with the same rigor they apply to other critical business systems. This means:

  • Implementing strict scope limitations on AI access
  • Creating clear policies about acceptable AI use cases
  • Establishing robust oversight mechanisms
  • Maintaining detailed logs of AI interactions
  • Regular auditing of AI usage patterns
