The Viewyonder Operational Framework

VOF

VOF is the umbrella — the operational framework for AI applications. It governs the full LLM application lifecycle across six pillars, descriptive rather than prescriptive, with the application as the atomic unit.

Three platform shifts. Same problem each time: how do you actually run this in production? VMware had Operational Readiness. AWS had Well-Architected. AI's third shift needs its own. The Viewyonder Operational Framework is how we shift up work for GenAI.

Framework

The six pillars

Three pillars carry primary flagship projects — four in total, because Operational Excellence splits across build-time (Coherence) and run-time (GenAIOps). Stater also crosses into Performance Efficiency via Token Yield. Reliability and Behavioural Assurance live in the Body of Knowledge — patterns and writing, not products.

  1. 01

    Operational Excellence (Development & Operations)

The SDLC and ongoing operation of AI applications. Brought to life by two flagships split along the build/run boundary.

  2. 02

    Reliability

Availability, fault tolerance, graceful degradation. Patterns and writing in the Body of Knowledge; no flagship at v1.

  3. 03

    Security

Application security across models, identities, data, permissions, tools, services, and downstream effects.

  4. 04

    Performance Efficiency

Latency, throughput, model selection — and yield: the work performed per token spent. Stater serves the yield face via Token Yield; the broader pillar lives in the Body of Knowledge.

  5. 05

    Cost Intelligence (Finance)

Token economics — cost vs yield per unit of work. The question your CFO is about to ask.

  6. 06

    Behavioural Assurance

Eval coverage, output coherence, regression resistance. Surfaces via Coherence's eval outputs and the Body of Knowledge.

How it fits

The umbrella, the pillars, the flagships

VOF sits above six pillars. Four pillars each hang a flagship — Operational Excellence splits build/run across two.

The Viewyonder Operational Framework (VOF) VOF sits as an umbrella above six pillars: Operational Excellence, Reliability, Security, Performance Efficiency, Cost Intelligence, and Behavioural Assurance. Operational Excellence hangs two flagships — Coherence (build-time) and GenAIOps (run-time). Security hangs Injectionator. Cost Intelligence hangs Stater. Reliability, Performance Efficiency, and Behavioural Assurance are covered by the Body of Knowledge and have no flagship at v1. Body of Knowledge

Public, versioned, citable. Patterns and writing for each pillar — the canon behind the flagships, and the home for the three pillars without one.

Three ways in

How to use VOF

Three ways in, depending on where you are.

  1. Self-serve

Read the Body of Knowledge. Use the diagrams and patterns as a checklist against your own AI work. Free, ungated, citable.

  2. Assisted

Engage Steve — a healthcheck against one pillar, a roadmap, or a project. See Services for the current programme-led offers.

  3. As a buyer of a flagship

Pick the flagship that matches your live problem: Injectionator for AI application-security risk, Stater for token economics, Coherence for spec-to-implementation drift, GenAIOps for run-time observability and response.
